Seniors Outreach News March 13, 2013

March is tax month and we all need to file our tax returns. If you are a senior with low income and have a basic income tax return, FCSS has volunteers who can assist you in completing your tax return through the Community Volunteer Income Tax Program. For an appointment, please call FCSS at 403-443-3800.
If you don't file tax returns, it may affect or even delay your benefits such as Alberta Seniors Benefits and the Guaranteed Income Supplement (GIS) so it is important to do regardless of your income.  If you feel overwhelmed, don't hesitate to ask for help and take advantage of a wonderful community volunteer service.
Looking for something to do and tired of the snow, we have some activities for you:
• Link to Health runs every Monday at the CommUnity Drop-In Centre, (Wednesday for Robertson Manor residents), and Thursday at Bethel Church.
• The CommUnity Drop-In Centre is open weekday mornings for coffee, fellowship and games.
• Our next monthly information meeting is Thursday, March 21 at the CommUnity Drop-In Centre and the topic will be 'healthy transitioning as we age'.
• We have a special bus trip scheduled to Rosebud Theatre on Wednesday, March 27 to enjoy Barefoot In The Park.
• Our regular bus trip to Red Deer is scheduled for Wednesday, March 20th.
• April 2 is a special Easter potluck at the CommUnity Drop-In Centre.
For event times or ff you need transportation or help filling in forms, don't hesitate to contact our office.  We are here to serve you.  Please call our office at 403-443-2555.
