Seniors Outreach News September 18, 2013

Our first Monthly Information Meeting will be on Thursday, September 19 starting 10:00 sharp at the CommUnity Drop-In Centre. Dr. Reedyk will be joining us to share how to navigate the medical system when you no longer have a family doctor. How do you get those prescriptions renewed or blood test results?
If you need anything from Red Deer, the Seniors Outreach bus will be going on Wednesday, September 18 so plan your appointments and shopping for that day.
Tuesday, October 1 is a special Thanksgiving potluck at the CommUnity Drop-In Centre at noon.  Come and share the fantastic fun, food, and fellowship. It is a special time to celebrate the harvest and be thankful for all that we are blessed with in this community, province, and country.
Thursday, October 3 is the first Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra open rehearsal for seniors (55+) and students. The program this year is excellent and begins with Wagner's Ring without Words. It is an incredible experience, so don't miss this opportunity.
If you have trouble remembering these dates, pick up a copy of Senior Moments from our office or the CommUnity Drop-In Centre as the dates are all listed there for easy reference from now until Christmas and then you won't miss an event that you were looking forward to attending. The Senior Moments also profiles a volunteer in our community, provides useful information to help seniors stay connected, and lists areas where we need volunteer help.
If you need further information on Seniors Outreach programs or events or on benefits available to seniors, please contact our office at 403-443-2555. We would be delighted to assist you.
