Seniors Outreach News March 5, 2014

After further investigation, it appears that Maple Care Pharmacy is licensed with the Alberta College of Pharmacists. It just began operation in January, 2014 and is a new type of service that offers only diabetic testing supplies. While it is not in partnership with the Ministry of Health or Alberta Health Services, I have to correct the information printed earlier that it was a scam. The Alberta College of Pharmacists assured me that it was legitimate. My apologies to Maple Care Pharmacy. I do reiterate, however, that it is never wise to give personal information to anyone over the phone. While some are legitimate, many are not. The goal of Senior Outreach is to protect and be an advocate for seniors wherever we can.
March is upon us and that means that spring may be around the corner. I purchased a variety of seeds to plant out later, which psychologically makes me believe that winter will eventually come to an end. The staff at Seniors Outreach are also preparing the activities for Seniors Week which is always the first week in June and therefore guarantees warmer temperatures.
This week, we have an extended Seniors Week to offer which includes the weekend before June 2-6 and the weekend after it. Here it a sneak peek into what's in store during the 2014 Seniors Week.
