My pension income/support stays the same.

I am able to wash my hands/sanitize my hands and keep them clean.

Challenges

My bills are coming up.

(Call banks/utility companies to ask forgiveness or put a hold on payments)

My income has dropped, since I cannot work

(May apply for CERB, company wage subsidy, options to work at home)

I am not able to go out much.

(Plan for specific times out- grocery shopping, distance visits. Make thse meaningful outings)

I am not able to socialize in close proximity to others.

(Socialize at 6 feet away in my area as possible)

While not a total listing, it does enable us to take specific steps forward in a positive manner during this time. 2020 has provided an opportunity for a very focused life experience. We do not like to encounter these times, however, as seniors we recognize that such times in our lives will come. Challenging, Yes. Overwhelming, Hopefully Not.

Perhaps one of the most interesting supports is 1-877-JOY4ALL (1-877-569-4255) where teens have come up with stories, jokes, and more for seniors. Dial #1 for jokes, Dial #2 for today’s story, Dial #3 for today’s poem, Dial #4 for the daily dose of kindness, and Dial #5 for Listen & Learn. I gave this a call and it was encouraging and fun. I encourage you to try it out. Be safe, Be kind, & Be realistic in approaching others.

Until further notice, Seniors Outreach encourages everyone, as much as possible to PLEASE STAY HOME. We may have some further activities available over the next few days and weeks as Alberta is able to START removing restrictions. However, in all situations, continue to practice Physical Distancing of two meters. Please continue to Practice FREQUENT HAND WASHING OR SANITIZING and WIPE DOWN ITEMS that you have been in contact with – before and after usage. Be safe and keep others safe as well.

The present situation continues to still be quite changeable, however, Seniors Outreach will continue to take phone calls/emails in order to set up deliveries where possible, answer questions, and even assist with forms. You are also welcome to email us at

office@seniorso.ca . We will provide support where possible. Please Call 403-443-2555 or from Carbon and area 1-888-443-2555 (toll free) for any assistance.
