Have you visited the Trochu Arboretum & Gardens lately? It's a wonderful place to enjoy the hundreds of varieties of trees, shrubs, perennial and annual plants that grow in our area. It's also a wonderful place to visit with friends for tea, coffee & dessert!

Some happy news to share with you is that the Special Needs Assistance for Seniors Program is starting a new benefit year and the income thresholds have increased slightly. If you were just on the border for benefits last year you might just qualify this year.  You can call the Government information line at 1-800-642-3853 or Seniors Outreach staff are willing to help you.

Here's a great thought for the week in light of the summer we've been having:  "Ignore the dull days, forget the showers; keep track of only shining hours."   What a world we would have if only everyone would always focus on the positive and those "shining hours".  How much brighter and shinier our world would be. Though the negative would still be with us, it wouldn't get so much attention.
