Three Hills Skating Club hosts 2023 Carnival

Skate 3

The Three Hills Skating Club presented their 2023 Carnival using the Theme “Transportation”.

There were over 56 skaters classified into three categories: CanSkate; Pre-Star; Stars (Sr. & Jr. and the Three Hills Synchro) (which included many of the Stars plus).

The program included “Guest Skaters” from Carstairs. They performed under the title of “Solstice Juvenile” and “Solstice Senior”.

The CanSkate skaters give a supercharged dose of “cuteness”. The costuming, picking up on the theme of Transportation, suggested Bikers, Fisherman (Boats), Flight Attendants and Pilots, Astronauts, Sailors, Truck Drivers, and for the Pre-Stars, it was Air Balloons and the Stars presented “Trains”.

”The Three Hills Figure Skating Club has been a member of Skate Canada for over 40 years”.

Skate Canada is the oldest and largest figure skating organization in the world and is recognized by the Government of Canada and the Canadian Olympic Committee (COC) as the governing body for the sport of figure skating in Canada. However, they go far beyond figure skating. As the largest learn-to-skate teaching organization in Canada, they are dedicated to creating a nation of skaters both recreationally and competitively”.

It is readily observed that the Three Hills Figure Skating Club is successful in attracting young skaters and developing skills and confidence as they progress through the successive levels.

It was easy to imagine that from this group we might have the next Olympic star or professional entertainer.
