Kneehill Minor Hockey Association Hosts Annual Awards Night & AGM

The Trochu Hall came alive on Thursday, April 20, as the Kneehill Minor Hockey Association (KMHA) hosted its annual Awards Night and AGM. This was a special occasion for the association, as it was able to bring its members together to celebrate the talents and dedication of its players, coaches, and referees.

The Awards Night started off with the Jersey Presentations to the four Graduating players from KMHA: Peter Hildebrandt, Matthew Cunningham, Ethan Koch and Ian Ferguson.

The Tammy Kolke Spirit of KMHA award was presented to Ashley Kester. KMHA recognizes Ashley for her work as manager of the U7 age group and the tremendous amount of work that went into that. The Dave Evans “Coach of the Year” award went to Brady Hogg, an extremely deserving recipient and a person who devotes a lot of time and energy into his coaching.

Each team had its moment on the stage and the coaches talked about the lessons learned and how the season went. Teams also award Most Valuable Player (MVP), Most Improved Player (MIP), Most Dedicated (MD), and Most Sportsmanlike (MS). U11: MVP: Ryder Wiens, MIP: Elijah Hogg and McCoy Kubinec, MD: Gavin Lendvay, MS: Andy Richardson. U13 MVP: Bentley Dettmer, MIP: Holt Richardson and Isaiah Powell, MD: Eric Regehr and Kolton Vasselin, MS: Scotia Swinamir. U15 MVP: Lucas Wiens, MIP: Jack Tetz, MD: Luke Tuckwell, MS: Jaken Schellenberg. U18 MVP: Kohen McKiernan, MIP: Ian Ferguson, MD: Peter Hildebrandt, MS: John Gerich, and Peter Hildebrandt.

There was also recognition of the referees and the integral role that they play into the success of the season. Most dedicated officials this year went to Michael Sidock and Stephen Brisbin. The most outstanding officials went to Jason Hagel and Keigan Vaughan.
