The Three Hills Thrashers were cheered to victory in two exhibition games over the weekend. Saturday saw the Thrashers whip the Ponoka Stampeders 10-1 in front of an amazing home ice crowd at Three Hills Centennial Place Arena. The Thrashers travelled to Ponoka on Sunday and managed a 4-3 victory on Ponoka home ice. General Manager Reid Fenton commented that 45 players turned out for try-outs with half being returns and half being new hopefuls. The next exhibition home game is Saturday, Sept. 16, against the Strathmore Wheatland Kings. Game time is 7:30 pm.
