Ty Ward to compete at National Jr. High Finals Rodeo

Ty Ward, a Grade 8 PCA student, has earned a position on the Alberta National Jr. High rodeo team and will be travelling with fellow teammates to Gallup, New Mexico from June 27-July 3 to compete at the 6th annual National Jr. High Finals Rodeo (NJHFR) in the Jr. Bull Riding competition.
Featuring more than 1000 contestants from 47 US states, Canadian provinces and Australia, the NJHFR is the world's largest Jr. High rodeo. In addition to competing for more than $75,000 in prizes, contestants will also be vying for more than $80,000 in college scholarships and the chance to be named the NJHFR National Champion. To earn this title, contestants must finish in the top 20 after two go-rounds of intense competition before advancing on to Saturday's final championship performance.
Along with great rodeo competition and the chance to meet new friends from around the world, NJHFR contestants have the opportunity to enjoy volleyball tug-of-war, contestant dances, family-oriented activities sponsored by Fellowship of Christian Cowboys, and the chance to shop the western tradeshow, as well as visit the historical attractions of New Mexico and nearby Arizona.
