Thrashers defeat Colts over weekend

The Three Hills Thrashers edged the Mountain View Colts 7-6 in a thrilling come-from-behind win on Friday night at Centennial Place arena to extend their winning streak to three games.
After falling behind 1-0 in the opening period, Connor Ablett's powerplay goal tied the scored early in the second stanza. The Colts regained the lead less than a minute later, and then scored again at the seven minute mark of the period to take a 3-1 lead. Joel Harrison's first tally of the night put the Thrashers closer, but Mountain View restored their two goal lead with a powerplay goal by Cody Krebs, his second marker of the night. The Thrashers Scott Bell replied with a powerplay goal for the home team to make the score 4-3 Mountain View after 40 minutes.
Less than a minute into the final period, Connor Ablett's second goal of the game tied the score. After the Colts again regained the lead, the Thrashers again tied the score as Scott Bell notched his second powerplay goal of the game. Cody Krebs hat-trick goal put Mountain View ahead, but Corbin Weston's team-leading 17th goal of the season evened the score just over a minute later. The Thrashers finally took the lead when Joel Harrison's second goal of the night found the back of the night. This ended up being the game winner as the Thrashers skated away with a 7-6 victory. Cody Boeckman got the win in net for Three Hills making 27 saves.
The Thrashers play a pair of home games this weekend, Friday night against Rimbey and Saturday evening against Airdrie. Both games begin at 8:00 pm at Centennial Place arena.
