That's Life - July 13, 2022

It’s going to be a big time in the old town, not just this weekend but this week. Three Hills will see more than a few extra people pull into town as Prairie College celebrates its 100th Anniversary.

In addition to that the entire community will join together as we “Celebrate Our Heritage”.

Prairie’s Centennial has about 850 pre-registered guests to date. Activities begin on campus this Wednesday, July 13. Come and enjoy great speakers, concerts, games, sports and special youth and children’s programs July 13-17.

In conjunction with Prairie’s Centennial is the Three Hills Summer Celebration. This kicks off Saturday morning with a Pancake Breakfast in front of Three Hills IGA from 8 am-10:30 am. Parade entries are invited to begin assembling on First Avenue (railroad ave) at 9 am with judging taking place at 10 am. No registration is required. The Summer Celebration Parade will begin at 11am sharp.

Summer Celebration in Anderson Park will take place following the parade.

The ever-popular Kid’s Carnival is back featuring Bouncy Castles, Games, Prizes, Oodles of fun and Food Concessions. At the Amphitheatre be sure to bring along a blanket or lawn chair so you can sit back and enjoy Goodstock 2022 featuring live music, classic rock, folk and country. This event is hosted by “The Usual Suspects” and guests with a special performance by Dance Celebration.

The Kid’s Carnival will operate from 12:30 pm to 3:30 pm. Dance Celebration will perform from 1:30 pm to 2 pm and bands will take to the stage from 2 pm to 5:30 pm. In the case of nasty weather the fun will move to the Three Hills Curling Rink.

And if that’s not enough, to keep you and your family entertained, you can always head over to the Three Hills Centennial Arena to take in Circus Funtastic. It’s a Superhero Adventure featuring shows at 4:30 pm and 7:30 pm.

Yes, it’s going to be a Big Time In The Old Town. Don’t forget your hat, your sunscreen and you might even do well by scoping out a shade tree to keep the sun off you, as the parade goes by. But whatever you do and however you do it, make sure you have a whole lot of fun as we “Celebrate Our Heritage”.
