Variable yields and good to excellent quality seems to define this year’s harvest. At two-thirds to three-quarters completion, those in the know can see harvest wrapping up in about two weeks. That’s If the weather holds out.
And as harvest wraps up so does the Three Hills Farmers Market. The last market in the regular season is Tuesday, September 19 from 10 am to 1 pm. Be sure to stop in and stock up on fresh produce, baking and more. Watch for special market dates as we enter the fall and Christmas shopping season.
Sunday, September 17 marks the annual Terry Fox Run raising funds and awareness for cancer research.
The Village of Acme is having their Terry Fox Run once again with sign-up beginning at the Community Centre at 1 pm. There will be a staggered start time of 2 pm for walkers, 2:10 pm for runners and 2:15 pm for bikers.
Schools throughout Kneehill County will also participate in-house. Three Hills School and Prairie Christian Academy, in Three Hills, will hold their Terry Fox Runs on September 21. The Acme, Carbon, and Linden Tri-Campus will gather in Carbon on September 21, as well, to hold their event. Trochu Valley School will hold their Terry Fox Run on September 28, 2023.
