That's Life - December 20, 2023

Congratulations to the Three Hills Health Initiative Charity Gala committee for an amazing event. This fundraiser was completely sold out about one month in advance. It’s so wonderful to see community events, like this, come back to life after the Covid shutdown.

Next week we will publish our Annual Christmas issue featuring special Christmas greetings from many businesses throughout Kneehill County. If you would like your business included but have yet to be contacted, please call or 403-443-5133 or email us at

The Capital will take a two-week Christmas holiday and return to regular publication on Wednesday, January 10, 2024.

Be sure and jump in your vehicles and tour the towns and villages throughout Kneehill County to check out the Christmas light displays. Every community features a bunch of show-stoppers.

And don’t forget to take in the lights at the Trochu Arboretum Forest of Lights. Hot dog Fridays are always a hit with the Trochu Ag Society sponsoring December 15. Forest of Lights goes through to January 1, 2024. The lights operate from 5 pm - 9 pm nightly.

If you like to walk, as we do, Anderson Park, in Three Hills, is all-a-glow for Christmas. The temperature is ideal for a walk around the park. Thanks to all those who have worked so hard to construct all of the beautiful light and decorative displays.

In closing, I just want to remind all of our readers that there will be check stops on our highways throughout the festive season. They are in place to keep us all safe so that we can all enjoy a very Merry Christmas and a Happy, Healthy 2024. Drive safely, use a designated driver, if you need one. Play by the rules.

That’s Life.
