That's Life - December 18, 2019

I want to take this opportunity to wish one and all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year.

This year’s Christmas issue of The Capital features Christmas greetings and wonderful Christmas stories, from 167 students from Grades 4, 5 and 6 of the Three Hills School and Grades 5 & 6 of Prairie Christian Academy. This year marks the 40th Anniversary of our student program. It’s hard for me to believe I launched this program 40 years ago because I’m so young. Well, young at heart maybe.

I really have to thank the School Administration and Staff for allowing us to keep this Christmas tradition going for four decades. I also have to thank the great number of businesses who support this program each and every year.

But the biggest thanks goes to the students who put their heart and soul into every drawing and every story.

As we flip through the pages of time we have laughed a lot but sometimes a story will pull at our heartstrings and bring a tear or two. Those are the ones we never forget. Please take some time to enjoy this year’s Christmas issue. Like a snowflake, it’s one of a kind.

We’re going to take a little time to relax and enjoy the holiday season. Believe it or not we will not publish a newspaper on Christmas Day. We’re going to miss that issue and enjoy our family. The Capital will be open on Monday, December 30 from 9 am to 3 pm. Our first issue of 2020 will actually be printed that night but won’t be mailed until January 2, 2020. We will be closed to the public from noon today, Wed., Dec. 18 to Sunday, Dec. 29 inclusive. Open Monday, Dec. 30 and then closed Tuesday, Dec. 31 to Sunday, Jan. 5, 2020 inclusive. We will open for business as usual on Monday, Jan. 6, 2020. Clear as mud? I thought so.

Have a wonderful Christmas. Don’t eat too much.

That’s Life.
