That's Life - March 4, 2020

As I write this “That’s Life”, organizers tell me there are only 18 tickets left for Saturday’s Mardi Gras Masquerade, presented by The Three Hills Health Initiative. Get your tickets at Adam B. Young Insurance or online at gala43hill@yahoo.com Raffle tickets for the $5,000 Travel Voucher are available at Adam B. Young Insurance, ATB Financial (Three Hills, Trochu and Linden), Servus Credit Union (Three Hills), and the Trochu Dollar Store. I’m told the remaining raffle tickets will be picked up on Friday morning, so get your’s right away.

Now, don’t forget we spring ahead one hour on Sunday, March 8 at 2 am. If your clocks don’t automatically change themselves, you’ll have to make the effort.

Knox United Church invites everyone to their “Welcome Spring Dance”, Friday, March 13 at the Three Hills Community Centre. See page 7 for details.

Next Wednesday, March 11, the Three Hills Skating Club presents “Family Game Night” at the Three Hills Arena starting at 5 pm. This annual Skating Carnival features members of the CanSkate and StarSkaters as they show off their skills. Admission is free.

Concerning the Provincial Budget, announced last Thursday, to sum it up, it could be worse. The frightening thing is, it probably will be. The budget is based on higher oil prices, more investment and a promise to be in the black by 2022-23 with a forecast of a $700 million surplus just in time for the next election. I sincerely hope that everything plays out the way they see it happening. But remember this, according to Alberta Finance Minister Travis Toews, if the Kenney budget doesn’t work out, there will be more cuts. That’s what I’m afraid of.

That’s Life.
