That's Life - June 10, 2020

It is an honor and a privilege to present the 2020 Graduating Classes of Kneehill County in this week’s issue.

This is no ordinary graduation year. The Covid-19 pandemic has changed the world, as we know it. Grads everywhere have had to deal with the postponement of their commencement celebrations. Many have been creative by holding virtual get-togethers. There have been parades, where possible. We have seen graduation photos line our boulevards. The students of the 2020 Grade 12 graduating classes will never forget this ordeal.

Thanks to the overwhelming support of the many businesses, schools and municipalities, within Kneehill County, the 2020 Kneehill Graduation Guide came to fruition, uninterrupted.

I would like to extend a special thanks to Jason Ewert Photography for allowing us to use his individual photos of the grads. And a big thanks to the Acme/Carbon/Linden Tricampus, Prairie Christian Academy, Three Hills School and Trochu Valley School for the co-operation and support in co-ordinating their student photos and making them available to us well in advance of our publication deadline.

Congratulations to all grads on a job well done. We wish you the very best of luck in your future endeavors.

It was unfortunate that the 39th Annual Three Hills Street Freaks Show ‘N Shine was cancelled as were the Cruise Weekend events that include Saturday and Sunday 1/8th mile bracket (drag) racing.

Just to mark the occasion a handful of cruise fans did park on Main Street and owners mingled throughout the afternoon, a few were still downtown around the supper hour, on Saturday.

Sunday, as we all know, was cold and wet so that would have been disastrous for the drags, the food vendors and the 50/50 raffle. At least our farmers got a nice rain out of it.

Father’s Day is coming up on June 21. At least shopping for Dad should be a little easier than for Mother’s Day. Heck, most dads are happy with a nice, thick barbecued steak followed by a snooze. Simple enough.

That’s Life.
