April 18-24, 2021 is National Volunteer Week. The Value of One, the Power of Many is this year’s theme.
What would any community be without its volunteers. Volunteerism is the stuff that healthy, vibrant communities are made of. Volunteers make this town and every town, village and hamlet in Kneehill County tick.
Let’s all give ourselves a pat on the back for rising to the cause and lending a helping hand.
And speaking of needing helping hands here’s your chance to help beautify Three Hills. That darned pandemic shutdown the Annual Flower Barrel Program last year but it’s not going to happen again.
If all goes well, May 29 will be the day when barrels and hanging baskets are planted and placed throughout the downtown core. If you can help call Shirley Cullum at 403-443-0982 or email her at cullumshirl@gmail.com. The work will all happen at Digger’s Greenhouse.
Now, this all takes money and you can help by donating $100 for a barrel or basket. To donate please deliver your contribution to ATB Financial. Make your cheque out to Three Hills Beautification. I’ll keep reminding you just in case you forget.
Congratulations to Katherine Remfer for winning the Annual Three Hills Curling Club Cash Dance $15,000 cash prize. I had made room in my sock drawer for the loot but, alas, it was not to be. 357 tickets sold, during a pandemic, with no meal and no dance. Hey, that’s solid support. That’s great to see.
That’s Life.
