That's Life - June 23, 2021

As the song says, “June is busting out all over”, and man oh man is it ever. After 15 months of doing next to nothing, things are starting to happen.

Congratulations to all of the graduates in Kneehill County. The Capital is proud to present them to you in this issue. Thanks to our many advertisers for allowing this to happen.

And speaking of graduation, Prairie Christian Academy Graduation is being celebrated this Friday, June 25 while Trochu Valley School Graduation will be celebrated on Saturday, June 26. June 28 is the official last day of school in our region although many students will have already left the building due to exams, etc.

Trochu and Carbon will be busy Saturday with the Trochu Ag Society’s Crooked Horn event at the Sports Grounds. Check the display Ad this week.

Carbon Sports Day features three days of Slow Pitch, Saturday’s Parade at 10 am, archery, disc golf and don’t miss the Soap Box Derby at 11am.

Pools and splash parks are open but COVID Restrictions still apply so check your town or village for details.

Don’t miss your opportunity to celebrate the “Thank You, Carol Maerz” event this Saturday at Three Hills IDA Pharmacy. From the free pancake breakfast to music by Lewis Frere it’s going to be a great send-off. As a matter of fact, the three most used words by me at IDA, either in person or on the phone have been, “Is Carol around?” I’ve been practicing, “Is Joseph around?” I’ll keep workin on it. But on a serious note, it has been an absolute pleasure working with Carol through the years and I’m sure we’ll see lots of Carol in the future. Maybe she’ll get together with Jan and reinvent the Three Hills Mini Mall. Those were the days my friends, we thought they’d never end. We were wrong.

That’s Life.
