That's Life - January 12, 2022

I will open by wishing everyone a Happy, Healthy and Prosperous 2022.

Congratulations to the Town Of Trochu on their very successful high-level fireworks held on New Years Eve. My wife and I followed the solid line of tail lights that travelled to Trochu from Three Hills to enjoy the annual event. It was spectacular as always.

Three Hills Public Works will pick up your discarded tree, today, Wednesday, January 12.

This year the Christmas trees will be taken to the landfill as opposed to the Three Hills Recreation Park (ball diamonds). The Annual Christmas Tree Burn, high level fireworks and hot dogs/hot chocolate have been moved to Family Day due to COVID-19 restrictions. Feel free to take your tree to the landfill yourself.

If you want your tree picked up please have it placed at your front curb.

Do not wrap it or tie it and have all decorations removed.

2022 marks the 100th Anniversary of Prairie Bible Institute in the Town of Three Hills. What is now known as Prairie College, this private Christian post-secondary school began classes on October 9, 1922 on the property of the McElheran Family Farm.

Now, 100 years later, Prairie as we know it, will celebrate their Centennial July 13-17, 2022. Brace yourself as it’s going to be a big time in the old town. Hopefully COVID-19 restrictions will allow this milestone event to go off without a hitch. Joy in the journey.

100 years and counting. Mark it on your calendar.

Enjoy the warmer temperatures. I’m almost certain they won’t last but let’s pretend they will.

That’s Life.
