Although it's expected that Gary Mar will be the new leader of the Alberta Progressive Conservative Party, it still remains to be seen.
A second ballot will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2011 and the outcome of that will be the deciding factor.
Former leadership hopefuls and front-runners Nancy Betkowski (1992) and Jim Dinning (2006) crashed and burned after the first ballot.
