The Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) has made a final offer to Canada Post in the hopes of negotiating a settlement. The Union has also given the notice, required by the Canada Labour Code, of its intent to strike if there is no settlement following its final offer. As you all know by now, the Town of Slave Lake, Alberta was devastated by fire as wildfires burning southeast of the community were pushed into Town at about 7 pm on Sunday evening. All 7,031 residents were evacuated. About 40 per cent of the town has been destroyed or damaged.
Immediate help is needed as those who lost their homes lost everything.
Three Hills Super 8 is now accepting cash donations, blankets, water bottles, diapers and personal care products to be turned over to the Red Cross.
