When I was born my dad called my grandparents and announced "Butcher Boy". Dad rushed Mom up to the Three Hills Municipal Hospital in the old truck that was used for hauling meat and making deliveries to and from Shearlaw  Brother's Locker Storage. My dad Ron and Uncle Norman owned and operated that store from 1948 o 1980, right here in Three Hills.

My wife and I have been almost weekly travellers on Highway 21 for the last 20-plus years. We have lived a "back and forth" lifestyle enjoying our time spent at Buffalo Lake and our work-week here in Three Hills.
The traffic has increased on Highway 21 due to congestion on the QEII. It's not the lazy trail that it used to be.
The August long weekend is upon us. Alberta highways record the heaviest traffic of the year at this time. Along with that comes all sorts of problems.

The past few months have been a little hectic at The Capital.
Most of you are aware that we took on the Sears agency back in April of 2009. There was a lot of renovating, drywall dust, compromise, and learning curves but The Capital and Sears seemed to get along fairly well.
We had a visit one day, this spring, by some Sears Higher-ups. It seems we were doing fairly well and we were identified as a "potential growth community".

The Kneehill Region has just experienced a showcase of Volunteerism, at its best.
Week after week we have the privilege and pleasure of attending community celebrations that simply would not happen without volunteers, and plenty of them.
My wife and I grew up in Three HiIls. Our parents were members of the Three Hills Elks, The Kinsmen Club, Legion, Legion Auxiliary, IODE, Kinettes, Royal Purple and more. We grew up experiencing the wonderful picnics, playgrounds, Christmas programs, sports days
