Library StoryWalk© signs stolen over the weekend

Dear Editor,

Just like everyone else, the Three Hills Library has struggled during these last fourteen months. Mandated closures have meant we have had to implement new ways to serve our community; from curbside pick-up of library materials and creative “Take It and Make It” and “Science in a Bag” programs, to StoryWalk© programs for our young patrons. We have done our best to adapt.

Our newest StoryWalk© was just set up in Memorial Park a few days ago. We were incredibly disheartened to discover that sometime over the weekend all our signs had been stolen. Though perhaps not significant, there IS a cost for materials, as well as staff and volunteer hours to put this program together.

If the theft of our signage was just an act of mischief, or if perhaps those involved would like to choose to “be better”, we would be grateful for the return of our materials.

While we are discouraged by this loss, we are choosing to remind ourselves of the many local businesses and individuals who support the library, and of our wonderful patrons. Many of you are quick to share a smile, an encouraging word, an unexpected gift, and the love of reading.

Thank you! We look forward to seeing you soon.

Sincerely,

Karen Nickel

Library Manager
