It is amusing to see the gnashing of teeth from the MSM over the election of Dannielle Smith as leader of the UCP. They worked hard as did Premier Kenny and some of the other contenders to portray her in a negative light, hysterical about her Sovereignty Act even though it proposes nothing that Quebec does not already have. In 1986 the ruling Social Credit Party of BC was taken over by a controversial leader called Bill VanderZalm who was elected as premier. His views were so radical, it split the party, who not only lost the next election, but the party soon ceased to exist.

In 2016, Donald Trump was elected president. He also is controversial with extreme views. The Republican Party has never been so divided as they are today.

The recent passing of the Queen affected me more than I thought it would. I teared up when I watched the memorials and the recounts of her life. But what I think upset me the most was the disrespect I’ve witnessed by the younger generations.
