Our mother, Vivian Bruck, longtime resident of Three Hills and sometimes-contributor to The Capital, will turn 96 on September 7. She contentedly resides under the gracious care of the Westview Care Community staff in Linden.

Sitting on our patio overlooking Anderson Park enjoying the sunshine and pleasant breeze Saturday afternoon, I was too content. So I started reviewing the week’s headlines. It is hard to find positive news but no shortage of bad. It is difficult to compete with the buffoonery of President Biden, but our PM made a valiant effort. The report that he spent more hours in the air in his private jet in July than on the ground while lecturing the world on emissions was inspirational.

I want to start by thanking the authors of the two thought provoking letters that I believe are addressing the overturn of Roe vs Wade. I could write so much to their submissions but I will try and make my thoughts brief.
